nice to meet you
Hi, I’m Liam Cashel and I'm a Consulting Manager and a Senior Product Manager at EY within the Digital & Emerging Technology practice. I'm also a life-long student. I assembled this portfolio to document the work I completed while achieving a Professional Certificate in Full Stack Development from MIT XPro, a 10 month intensive coding bootcamp.
I enrolled in MITs bootcamp for the same reasons I am a Product Manger:
- I love to build and create. As a kid I was constantly tearing technology apart. In high school my room was full of contraptions to make my life “easier,” such as hydraulic tubes that let me turn off my light from my bed. In college, I started a business repairing phones on campus. Now I have built a career around creating and refining digital products. Simply put, taking an idea and turning it into something tangible is a passion of mine.
- I am compulsively curious. If something works, I always want to know why. As a PM I have the opportunity to ‘peek behind the curtain.’ However, before taking the MIT course ‘the curtain’ was often a wall of code I did not understand.
- I am competitive. In my experience, and based on the advice of my mentors, the best PMs are those who possess a strong technical foundation. In a field like Product Management I don’t believe it’s possible to be “the best.” Even still, I don’t like the idea of at least not being in the running. So I'll always pursue ways to level-up my skills.
Long story short, I love Product Management & Software Development. I hope, through my portfolio, I can share a little of my enthusiasm with you. You can view my portfolios by selecting either of the two buttons below, or by navigating to the "Portfolios" dropdown at the top of the page.
