Product Portfolio

Throughout my career I have developed a strong familiarity with the payment and money movement space. This is intentional. Payments are an interesting challenge for a PM. On top of the traditional juggling act of user needs, technical feasibility and development time, payments add the additional complexity of stringent regulatory requirements. I thoroughly enjoy the difficulty of balancing these four needs to deliver exceptional user experience.

Below you can find a collection of Products I have worked on. Each 'card' shows a screenshot of the Product, a brief description and, when possible, links to related documentation.

Gavel: A P2P Payment Solution

The vast majority of Gen Z use some sort of P2P payment solution on their phones. Gavel fills a currently unoccupied niche within this space. What I dubbed the P2S, Peer to Stranger, space. With a conventional P2P payment platform once money is exchanged it is difficult to ensure both parties live up to the terms of their agreement. Gavel combines 3 features to drastically reduce this transaction risk. First as any sex ed teacher will tell you the best way to avoid risk is to abstain. Gavel creates a user profile rating that allows users to make informed choices on who they engage with. Second throughout all transactions an immutable log is created with all of the discourse between users, which ensures a consistent source of truth. And finally if there is a dispute Gavel connects disputing parties to trained arbiters who use our immutable log to reach a un-biased decisions.

Citi Personal Loan Payments

I served as the Product Owner for Personal Loan Payments. Leading the product from concept-to-launch to enable hundreds of thousands of customers to seamless pay tens of millions of dollars worth of personal loans. Utilized the bank’s existing ACH transfer rail architecture and adapted it to the users needs as well as the regulatory requirements inherent to payments. Payment products are by their nature cross-functional as well as financially, technically and legally complex. Therefore, in order to ship a high-quality, safe and secure user experience I collaborated with other Product teams as well as a variety of external teams including: Design, UX Research, Development, Legal, and Retail. Additionally, I reduced payment processing time from 6 days to 1 day, drastically cut Citi’s costs by eliminating a third-party system, and helped increase personal loan enrollment by 30%.

Zelle

In my previous role I served as the Zelle Payments Product Manager at one of the countries largest consumer banks, where our 23+ million users moved billions of dollars via Zelle annually. I increased new user engagement by 35% by rebuilding Zelle Limits to better suit our newly enrolled users’ needs. Additionally, I discovered an authentication vulnerability in the customer enrollment process with the potential to lead to serious cases of fraud. Taking the initiative, I proposed, then led the research, design & rollout of a new mandatory OTP verification flow for 22 million users. Zelle is a living product, and several initiatives I was involved with have yet to be released. Once they are public knowledge I will provide more details here.
